Kentucky private NPOs applying for physical damage disaster loans face June 11 deadline from SBA

The U.S. Small Business Administration is reminding eligible private nonprofit organizations in Kentucky of the June 11 deadline to submit disaster loan applications for physical damages caused by a severe storm, flooding, landslides and mudslides that occurred between Feb. 9-14, 2018.

Private nonprofit organizations located in the following counties are eligible to apply: Bell, Breathitt, Clay, Estill, Floyd, Harlan, Johnson, Knott, Knox, Lawrence, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Magoffin, Martin, Metcalfe, Owsley, Perry, Pike, Powell, Whitley and Wolfe in Kentucky.

Looking to rent a two-bedroom apartment in Waco? How about Killeen or Temple? You’re going to need to make at least $15.60 per hour in Waco and $15.17 per hour in Killeen-Temple to afford it, according to a new report from the National Low Income Housing Coalition.

The coalition’s Out of Reach 2017 report looked at the gap between renters’ wages and the cost of rental housing. The study defines affordability as spending no more than 30 percent of your gross income on rent.

Housing wages, or what a renter would need to earn hourly to afford housing, varied widely across Texas. While you need to make at least $19.83 per hour to afford a two-bedroom in Dallas, renters in Austin-Round Rock would have to make $22.98 per hour, Fort Worth- Arlington $18...

Considering its neighbor to the north, South Korea needs a strong military, a point reinforced as the first F-35 for the nation was unveiled.

At an event showcasing the Republic of Korea’s first F-35A Lighting II aircraft built by Lockheed Martin, politicians laid out just how close the country’s capital is to the border.
